Matrix PDM Engineering provided engineering, design and equipment supply services for three new carbon steel tanks to store and handle methanol at Kinder Morgan’s Methanex terminal.
Scope of Work
- Design of three 220,000 barrel carbon steel tanks
- Design for the addition of an eight-spot rail loading/ offloading and staging area and a two-bay truck loading/offloading rack
- Piping distribution, including specifications, calculations, and drawings
- Field investigations and determined locations of equipment, distances and routings for conduit and tray, existing PLC system and interface points to the control network
- Specification and design for a new MCC building and gear
- Utilized 3D design for all discipline design effort
- Hardware specification and supply for all control systems equipment
- Programming (SCADA system), pre-commissioning and startup for the new installation
- Firewater/foam system design and specification
- Designed the operations and administration building and guard shack
- Provided upgrades to an existing barge dock, ship loadout dock, and other infrastructure
