The existing LNG peak shaving facility, originally constructed in 1975, was equipped with three reciprocating boil-off gas compressors. Following the failure of one unit, a temporary compressor was deployed to maintain operational reliability.
Matrix developed and executed a comprehensive plan to engineer, procure, and install two new oil-flooded rotary screw compressors, each rated at 2 MMscfd. This solution optimized the boil-off gas management system while ensuring uninterrupted plant operations.
This project successfully modernized critical infrastructure while maintaining continuous service, demonstrating Matrix’s ability to deliver complex upgrades in live operating environments.
